Our Wedding

We have set the date, as many of you know, for September 2, 2007 (Labor Day weekend, Sunday). We will hold the wedding in Columbia, Missouri. Why, you ask. Because that is were we met and began our journey together with the help of lots and lots of wine -- selling it, not drinking it. We are looking forward to this celebration with many friends and family members, so please stay tuned for more information about travel and accomodation.

The Wedding

Here are a few pictures from the wedding. We unfortunately haven't found the time to deal with all the discs from so many wonderful people who took pictures, so this is just a taste. We await the photographers professional photos for some "portraits". That will be some time. Anyway, I hope this appeases the masses.

Friday Night

I've been asked to provide pictures, perhaps as proof, of the joyous event. Please, send me an email if you would like the official link and password to our photographers website (emily.heinz@gmail.com) where you can find the professional pictures for sale or just reminisce a bit. But, here are some highlights.

The weekend festivities began in real style with a party thrown by Mary and Charlie Brown, good friends of Aunt Cheryl. Mary and Charlie have a house and style that would put Martha Stewart to shame. (Note: all of the class and hospitality, none of the shady dealings or pompous attitudes.) We thank them wholeheartedly for opening their home to all of us!

Saturday -- The Rehearsal Dinner

The rehearsal dinner was spent in true family style. We had pizza and games -- including hillbilly golf and karaoke. It was great fun. Granny gave a fantastic toast, featuring David playing his trumpet. It was an impressive performance and a great honor to be recognized. Granny and Judy did all the decorations and the place really looked festive.

Oops! Time of Wedding.

Hi Everyone, I've made a mistake. Your invitations announce a ceremony beginning at 4.30. Not possible, says the Les Bourgeois Bistro. Thus, we are happy to invite you for a quick cocktail at 5.00 that you can take to the ceremony, which will begin promptly at 5.30. Please, spread the word to all those in your party and those who do not check this site. Sorry. The management of Vargic-Heinz thanks you for your understanding.

I'm so fortunate.

I was mounting your names onto place cards today and seeing each and everyone of the guests for this up and coming hullabaloo. It felt so good. I felt so lucky to have so many wonderful people in my life. So many with different interests, histories, passions and personalities. It struck me in such a way that I felt my heart grow. I know that it is a drive for all of you and know that it is time away from the relaxation of home; but, I can't tell you all how much it means to me. The names flowing through my mind, images of all your faces... Excitement, gratitude, amazement that so many people are willing to bless us with their presence -- these emotions don't begin to describe my feelings now.

Please, if there is anything that you need to know about the trip. If there is any confusion left behind by my lack of organizational skills, please, write or call.

With love and anticipation,

Emily to some, Emma to some others.

I hate packing. Do you?

There is always a momentary panic when I decide to delve into that daunting activity of packing. I never know what to bring. So, here goes:

- Sporting - The town of Columbia offers many different sporting activities. Those of you staying at the Regency hotel will have a guest pass to Gold's gym, there's Stephen's lake swimming hole , and all sorts of areas for good hiking or walking about.

- The Pizza Party - Although this is our rehursal dinner, it is an informal one. Wear whatever you please.

- The Wedding/Reception - The wedding ceremony will be held outside. It will be hot. Please be comfortable. It is casual attire and I guarantee that if you wear dress shorts (Uncle Butch) you won't be ridiculed, or no more than usual. Coat and tie are not necessary, unless you really want to wear them.

Any questions or concerns please let me know, because I don't want anyone to feel the stress of "what do I bring?". Email me: emmabranowedding@gmail.com and I will help you.

The Ceremony & Reception

Both the ceremony and reception will be held at Les Bourgeois Bistro and Winery in Rocheport, Mo., a quick jaunt from Columbia. This exquisite spot is situated on the top of a bluff overlooking the Missouri river and farmland. It is the place that through the help of our friends, Jen and Bennett, brought us together. Thus, while its beauty is enough to want to have a wedding, it also holds great significance for our relationship and we are thrilled to share it with you all.

The Location -- Co, Mo

Columbia, Missouri is located smack dab in the middle of the state and holds claim to three universities. Its town is vibrant and fun, resplendent with the common watering holes, local galaries, and a plethora of fabulous eateries. The return visitor is often said to eat his/her way through the town. So, be prepared for some great food and fun. Brano and I fell in love with Co, Mo and hope that you will enjoy it for your short stay.
